‘It’s a great opportunity for her fans’: Whitney Houston’s hologram is to tour the world, it has been announced (the singer is pictured in 2009)

A hologram of the late Whitney Houston is going on tour, it has been announced.

The show featuring the legendary singer’s greatest hits will open next year at a yet-to-be-revealed U.S. location and will then tour around the world.

Pat Houston, head of the late singer’s estate and Whitney’s sister-in-law, signed a deal to allow Hologram USA to use the singer’s image and songs in the show.

‘It’s a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come,’ she said in a press release. ‘I look forward to the partnership.’

The main beneficiary of Whitney’s estate – her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown – died in July this year after being found unconscious under water in a bathtub six months earlier.

The new announcement comes just three years after Whitney was found dead in eerily similar circumstances – drowning in her hotel bathtub ahead of the Grammy Awards.
