‘I was his girlfriend’: Brady Bunch’s Maureen McCormick opens up on relationship with Michael Jackson as she reveals the two were an item as teenagers
It’s been almost a month since Maureen McCormick entered the South African jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
But it was only on Sunday’s episode that the 58-year-old Brady Bunch starlet decided to drop the bombshell on contestants that she used to date Michael Jackson.
Maureen innocuously asked Chrissie Swan if she liked the King Of Pop before revealing ‘we used to date.’

‘We used to go roller skating in Woodland Hills [California], I used to go over to their house all the time,’ she said casually.
The American actress explained that the two courted when she was ‘probably 14, 15 or 16,’ and when asked if the pair were officially boyfriend and girlfriend replied ‘yeah.’
‘We held hands and kissed on the cheeks, never on the lips,’ Maureen dished, and boasted that the Jackson 5 were big fans of the Brady Bunch.
‘It was so cute, he loved our show – they all did though. We used to go over and hangout and watch them rehearse.’
‘We would talk a lot and dream a lot and just, I think we admired each other and, yeah,’ she regaled with a smile.
Official: Maureen said that she and Michael, who passed away in 2009, would go on dates, ‘hold hands’ and considered themselves to be boyfriend and girlfriend
Maureen first spoke of her relationship with the legendary popstar in her 2008 autobiography Here’s The Story: Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice.
‘Once we went ice-skating and he held my hand as we glided around the rink,’ she recalls.
In the book she also revealed she went on a date with comic and actor Steve Martin, and opened up on her relationship with Brady Bunch co-star Barry Williams, who played her brother Greg Brady on the show.
Since her stint on the Brady Bunch from 1969 to 1974 Maureen endured her share of hardships, battling issues with drugs, depression and anxiety.
Michael had many famous relationships, including courtships with the likes of Lisa Marie Presley, whom he married, Brooke Shields and Tatum O’Neal.
He had Michael Joseph, 18, and Paris, 16, with his second wife Debbie Rowe, and a third child, Prince Michael, better known as ‘Blanket,’ with the help of a surrogate mother.
One of the world’s greatest pop stars, who like Maureen had a career filled with controversy, he tragically passed away in 2009 after suffering cardiac arrest.
